10 Side-Jobs That Can Make You $30 Per Hour

We’re all looking for that financial cushion that gives us that little bit extra to go to dinner occasionally, take family vacations, and save for the future, but, the job we have may not provide it. In other cases, we have a full-time school schedule and can’t commit to the stricter schedule of a full-time or even part-time job, BUT, we need to earn an income. For these scenarios and more, there is the “side-job”!

Finding the Right Fit

Not all side-jobs are for everyone. Some require money and training for certification and/or equipment, while others simply require enough knowledge about a particular subject, or a car, a valid driver’s license, and a clear background check. The best thing about most of these jobs is that they would be on YOUR TIME. If you’re not available, you don’t do it that day or at that time.

Any of these jobs would be within your reach:

Uber - Like to drive? Why not earn money while you do it? You can drive with Uber anytime, day or night, 365 days a year. When you drive is always up to you, so it never interferes with the important things in your life.

Lyft - Make up to $35/hr. driving your own car. You choose when you drive. Some drivers make more than $800 just driving Friday nights and weekends.

Vosh - Has your mobile detailing business fallen by the wayside? Spending too much time looking for business? Make up to $35/hr. by becoming a Vosh partner! Keep your mobile detailing close to home, spend more time running your business and less time looking for it, take the jobs you want and ignore the ones you don’t, all with the Vosh on-demand car wash app.

Personal shopper - As freelance personal shopper, you take the burden of shopping off of those who can afford to pay someone else to do it. While often focused on clothing, a personal shopper may be tasked with choosing and purchasing anything.

Dog-walker - Get exercise and make money at the same time by becoming a dog walker. You can stay in your own neighborhood or branch out, but you can walk multiple dogs at a time, and make between $15 and $30/hr./per dog (depending on the affluence of the area).

Tutor - Have you always been good at Math? Become a tutor! You can advertise at with high schools and colleges.

Freelance writer - While becoming a freelance writer requires more legwork to find the work and market yourself, it can be a profitable side job.

Babysitter - Caring after someone’s children is not something that should be taken lightly and so it is not something that should be charged lightly. If looking after children is something you enjoy, then becoming a babysitter or a part-time nanny would be a great way to make a little extra income.

Massage therapist - A certified massage therapist can make at least $20/hr. at an actual spa or doctor’s office but much more just working for themselves, making house calls. But, to become a legitimate massage therapist, you’ll need to be trained, certified, and, in most cases, licensed.

Bartender - Similar to massage therapy, becoming a bartender requires training, but once you have it, you can make between $20 and $30/hr. at a good location, and can even charge more as a bartender for private events (this requires more marketing on your part though).

There You Have It!

Whether one of these jobs sounds perfect as a side-job, or a full-time job, they can each provide you and your family with that little extra financial security so you have the freedom to enjoy your life with the people closest to you.
