Waterless is the Ultimate Water Conservation Tool

We’ve talked a lot about the California drought so you’re all probably experts on it by now, but there is a method of water conservation we haven’t really covered yet … waterless car washes!

Waterless car washes are also known as chemical car washes. This type of car wash uses special chemicals to clean a car’s surface without water.  A waterless car wash is easy, eco-friendly, and quick. In fact, it takes about 15 minutes or so to clean the exterior of your car using a waterless car wash. A waterless car wash is a special chemical formula in a spray form that is used to remove light dirt from your automobile.

There are a couple of ways to go when it comes to a waterless car wash: You can choose to have your car washed for you using a waterless car wash service like Vosh, or you can wash it yourself using a waterless car wash product that is sold over-the-counter. If you make the choice to DIY, be sure to follow these simple steps:

  1. Buy a waterless car wash formula that is VOC compliant. Ideally, you should get one with the main ingredient being organic and free of petrochemicals.

  2. Use a soft thick towel. It is best to use a microfiber towel that has a minimum weight of 300 grams per square meter. Using the wrong kind of towel may cause scratching.

  3. Buy two different colors of towels, so you can designate a specific color of towel for the car body and a different color towel for detailing the wheels. You don’t want to use the same towel to clean your car’s surface that you use on your car’s wheels because of the risk of contaminating the car surface with the brake dust from the wheels.

  4. Spray the waterless car wash formula on your car in sections and polish off accordingly.

  5. Use the same waterless car wash product to make your tires look like new. It will remove tar, road grime, and even bugs that have been stuck on the tire’s surface for a long time.

But Who Has The TIME To Do All That?

As you may have noticed in the above list, waterless washing your own car isn’t that complicated, but it’s also not  as simple as it sounds. You need to research the best product to use. Then you need to run the errand of buying all your supplies. Then you need to make sure that you don’t just spray the waterless formula and clean anywhere and everywhere willy-nilly at the risk of causing avoidable damage. Wouldn’t you rather spend that time with your family? With our on-demand car wash app, you can schedule and pay for your waterless car wash and not give it another thought!
